Vincent McCarron, originally from the fishing town of Dun Laoighaire in Co. Dublin, moved to Inis Mór, the largest of the three Aran Islands off Co. Galway, over 30 years ago. Starting out as a Fisherman, Vincent became interested in the tradition of basket weaving and learned and perfected his trade on the Islands.
Vincent is now the only full-time basket maker in Ireland and travels internationally attend workshops and fairs imparting his wisdom.
